Big Sofa is a technology business that’s grown out of an insight consultancy. We help organisations make sense of an ever increasing flood of images and video by creating bespoke spaces in our powerful online platform to help them capture, organise and search media; and through using our insight and consulting skills to help them analyse, make sense of it and generate meaning. Combined, we enable deeper consumer understanding, better collaboration and innovation in organisations.

Salary: £35,000-45,000 depending on experience

We’re looking for a proactive and enthusiastic new addition to our London client service team. 


You’ll be practical, professional and excited about working with our cutting-edge technology platform to develop new visual insights. 


You’ll be a mid-level project manager with experience working in an insight agency, recruitment or fieldwork company, for a capture app or online platform. Ideally. 


You’ll have experience of international qualitative online apps, video methods or community management.

Responsibilities will include…

- Being a key support and partner to business development leads ensuring the successful delivery of each project

- Managing projects from end-to-end from project commission to delivery for small to large scale domestic and international research projects

- Creating project-related materials such as screeners, discussion and activity guides, and initial deliverables

- Liaising across the business to ensure all resources are aligned and prepared to support the project at all touchpoints

- Identify and work closely with the best vendors based on the project scope (including recruitment and tech partners)

- Be a partner, expert, and a consulting resource for client teams

- Supporting the growth of junior team members through leadership and mentorship


Desired experience & skills include...

- BA/BSc degree

- 3+ years’ experience in project management

- 3+ years in the market research industry (agency experience is preferred)

- Strong organisation skills, attention to details, and thought leadership to solve problems and streamline processes

- An ability to collaborate across teams to find the best solution for meeting client needs

- Confident with technology tools and learning new technologies

- Capable of managing multiple projects and competing deadlines

- Experience in managing fieldwork and suppliers (recruitment and tech)

Big Sofa Technologies is an insight-led technology company. We were founded out of a desire to put people back at the center of research and really be able to hear their stories. Our history began with carrying an inflatable sofa around the streets of London and asked people to share their stories, on video, with no predetermined set of questions or responses. Just a conversation about what mattered in their lives. 

While the sofa is no longer carried around, the passion to understand real consumer behavior and language still persists.  Thus, a technology was developed that allows people to easily capture, store, and analyze large amounts of visual content of consumers. Even more exciting is the realization that the world’s biggest brands can get closer to their customers by better understanding human behavior and the use of their products; all through the power of video! Our technology and innovative approaches are changing how clients capture data and understand their customers. We are expanding our US team and looking for an individual that is self-driven, energetic, and passionate about what they do! Join our business development division as a Client Director, to help Big Sofa expand its presence in the US.   Your role will by supporting day-to-day project needs as well as contribute to overall business objectives.


As a Client Director, your responsibilities will include…

- Driving forward revenue growth for Big Sofa in the US

- Developing and maintaining close relationships with client contacts

- Gaining an understanding of the clients’ general business needs and pain points, to create and influence strategic solutions utilizing Big Sofas platform.

- Provide regular updates to Sr. Management and Leadership teams

- Record and track key client metrics; monitoring client health

- Develop and execute research design in close partnership with delivery teams

- Spread the word of Big Sofa’s capabilities at client meetings, networking events, conferences, and via social media

- Communicate regularly with clients on new product functionality and services

Desired experience & skills include…

- 7+ years in the market research industry (agency and brand experience preferred)

- 5+ years in account/client management/business development

- Clear understanding of the Insights industry and how to engage clients with a strong knowledge of research design and execution

- Experience in the tech-enabled insight space

- Initiative and drive to develop new client opportunities

- A track record of winning new business and developing productive client relationships

- Willingness to travel as needed for client face-to-face meetings

- Comfortable using technology tools and learning new technology

- A team player with an interest in developing talent and creating a positive company culture
